All is well in Australia. After suffering from jet lag, I am finally settling in to a routine. This weekend I went hiking in the Blue Mountains. PSA: In Australia, it does fall below freezing so pack warmly. I unfortunately did not. After an exhausting and cold hike, I settled into my accommodation for the night. The next morning I woke bright and early to explore the mountains at sunrise. Later that day, I embarked on a new adventure in the caves. The campus is absolutely beautiful. I am doing great. G’Day Mates!
P.S. They do not actually say G’Day in Australia.
Hi! I’m Emily Riley and I am studying abroad in Sydney, Australia for my first semester of college. I’m so excited and grateful to attend the University of Sydney for a semester. I leave for Australia in a couple days and I feel slightly nervous and overwhelmed. I still have so much to do. Preparing for a four month adventure can be quite stressful, but luckily I have the support of my family and friends. As I say good-bye to my home in Nebraska, it is bitter-sweet. Although I am thrilled to embrace another culture and learn about myself, I am also terrified by the distance and reminiscent of my upbringing. Well, I better get back to packing. Thanks for reading!
