Bankapura is a small historical town in the Haveri district of Karnataka state, India.

Bankapura is at a distance of 22 kilometres by road from Haveri on the way to Hubballi by National Highway 48.

  • Bankapura fort
  • 🌍 Bankapura Peacock Sanctuary. An important conservation centre not only for peafowl but a number of native Indian birds.
  • Shri Nagareshwara Temple. A 12th century temple built by the Western Chalaukya Dynasty, it was partially destroyed by the invading armies of Firoz Shah Bahmani in 1406. However, parts of the temples have survived and kept its architectural beauty intact.

The options are very limited. There is a lodge New Delhi Darbar near Highway 48. For better options stay at Haveri or Hubballi.
