Calatagan is a municipality in Batangas.

The town derives from the Tagalog word latag, or "plain".

Get in

Nasugbu, the main town of the region, is 35 km to the north. There is a highway and jeepneys travel it.

See

Punta de Santiago Lighthouse (40 minutes through semi-rough road taking a jeepney from the town proper of Calatagan). Built in 1890, it is one of the earliest lighthouses that remain functional up to this date. Since its construction, no ship has ever ran aground within its vicinity.
