De Smet
De Smet, South Dakota—"The Little Town on the Prairie"—is the home of author Laura Ingalls Wilder. Visitors arrive each summer to visit the Ingalls Homestead, the Laura Ingalls Wilder Memorial Society, and the Laura Ingalls Wilder Pageant.
Get in
Although there is a small airport to the north of town, it has no scheduled air service. The only way to arrive is by road.
