Helena—West Helena is a city of 10,000 people (2019) in Philips County, Arkansas.

Understand

Helena sits on lowlands between the Mississippi River and the eastern side of Crowley's Ridge. West Helena is on the western side of Crowley's Ridge. Helena and West Helena were separate cities before merging in 2006. At the time of the merger, West Helena was somewhat larger in population than Helena.

Downtown Helena is just across the Mississippi River about 11 mi (18 km) east of the junction of Highway 61 and Highway 49, which is approximately 58 mi (93 km) south of Memphis, Tennessee.

The museum offers exhibits, educational programs, annual events, and guided tours which are designed to give the visitor a glimpse into the history of the Delta.
