The Rongcheng (榕城) district forms the downtown core of the prefecture-level city of Jieyang. In addition, Jieyang also administers the county-level city of Puning (普宁). Also under Jieyang's jurisdiction are the three counties of Jiedong (揭东), Jiexi (揭西) and Huilai (惠来).
Talk
Teochew is the main language spoken in Jieyang, though most people can speak Mandarin as well. English is, to cut a long story short, virtually non-existent.

The county-level city of Puning is famous for its dried tofu (豆干 dòugān, dao7 guan1 in Teochew).

Chaoshan Tie Guan Yin (潮汕铁观音). Chaoshan Tie Guan Yin, possibly produced in Jieyang, is a type of oolong tea known for its distinctive roasting process and unique aroma.
White Hair Oolong (白毫乌龙). White Hair Oolong is a refined oolong tea, and Jieyang's climate and soil conditions may influence the tea's quality, giving it a unique flavor.
Fenghuang Dancong (凤凰单枞). Jieyang's proximity to Fenghuang Mountain may result in the production of Fenghuang Dancong tea, a type of oolong known for its single-tree variety and elegant taste.
White Hair Green Tea (白毫绿茶). Jieyang may also produce some White Hair Green Tea, characterized by tender white tea buds, offering a fresh taste and aroma.
