By car

Eura is at the junction of highways 12 and 43. The former connects Huittinen (access from Helsinki along highway 2) to Rauma, the latter goes between Laitila on highway 8 (access from Turku) and Harjavalta (access from Pori along highway 2). Säkylä is south-east of Eura on regional road 204, going further to Yläne, and also regional road 213 comes in from Loimaa. Köyliö is just south of highway 12, north of Säkylä and southeast of Eura.

Eura has bus connections from Rauma, Pori, Turku and Tampere as well as Säkylä. Köyliö also has connections from Säkylä, and buses on the Tampere–Rauma line go along highway 12, 5 km north of Köyliö town. Säkylä has, in addition to the aforementioned connections, services from Turku.

See and do

  • 🌍 Köyliö Church (Köyliö). Decorated wooden church finished in 1749, with current look from 1890. It's on Kirkkosaari, an island in Lake Köyliö. There seems to have been an older church on the site, and it is speculated that it had heritage from pre-Swedish times: it was known as "Lallin kellari", which may be from Celtic kel-air. The first bishop of Finland (according to legend), Saint Henry, was murdered by Lalli on the lake after a forced visit. The route from Kirkkosaari to Nousiainen, where Saint Henry was buried, became a popular (now revived) pilgrimage.

Backcountry

There are woods, where you can camp according to the right to access. However, don't stray into the military area of Huovinrinne, south-east of Säkylä centre.

No campfires without permission, and none during wildfire warnings.
