Kakdwip

Kakdwip is a town in the southeast region of West Bengal, India. It acts as a waypoint to Bakkhali and Sagar with several hotels, restrooms and other amenities.

By train

Get a Kakdwip-bound bus from Esplanade to Harwood Point (Lot No. 8) which is 30 km past Diamond Harbour. The bus would reach Harwood Point after almost three hours.

See and do

The Muriganga River is the only major attraction in Kakdwip. One may rejoice the beauty of the river while boating.

  • 🌍 Bhagabatpur. A small hamlet with Lothian Island Wildlife Sanctuary and Bhagabatpur Crocodile Project, the only crocodile project in West Bengal. The wildlife in this sanctuary includes estuarine crocodiles, olive ridley sea turtles, spotted deer, jungle cats and rhesus macaques. The mangrove trees at the confluence of the Saptamukhi River beautifies the area to attract tourists every year.
