Kondotty

Kondotty is adjacent to the Calicut International Airport. The people are very rich because of remittance from the Gulf countries. Consumer culture dominates the town with numerous restaurants, showrooms and fancy shops. Traffic is chaotic and the streets are extremely crowded.

Autorickshaws, minibuses and taxis are available.

• Elamaram Ferry, near Edavannappara town (15 km). ₹5.00 for crossing the Chaliyar river. You can also visit the scenic Konnora Dargah in Elamaram village. Good restaurants and shopping possibilities at nearby Edavannappara town. (updated May 2015)
• 🌍 Mini Ooty Hills (Arimbra Hills), Arimbra Village, Near Musliyarangadi, Nediyiruppu (10 km). 1,000 feet above sea level. Excellent hiking spot. Look for Thiruvonamala, Poolappees, Muchikundu, Cheruppadimala, Kunnumpuram and Kakkad viewpoints. . (updated Apr 2015)

• Ottayada. Ottayada or Ottaada or Ottayappam is a very common rice preparation of Kondotty people. But it is not easy to get one as they are not sold in restaurants. You have to search for them in small tea shops or ask a local friend to cook it for you. The new generation housewife cannot make it because Ottada requires special earthen vessels to cook in.
