Lari

Lari is a village of over 1,000 people in the heart of the province of Pisa. on top of a hill it is famous for its Vicari's Castle and for the Cherries Fair. It is also called the Cherries town.

The village of Lari is composed of the ancient part of the castle, in a dominant position on a hill, and of a modern part developed around it towards the slopes of the hill.

Get in

It is 60 km (37 mi) southwest of Florence, and about 25 km (16 mi) southeast of Pisa.

  • 🌍 Vicars' Castle (Castello dei Vicari), Main square (leave the car outside the walls and walk in). Home to an educational museum dedicated to the history of Tuscany and a collection of art and archeology called Museum Filippo Baldinucci.
  • 🌍 Propositura of San Leonardo and Santa Maria Assunta. A 10th-century church that has five 18th-century paintings.
  • 🌍 Oratorio della Madonna del Carmine. This 17th-century oratory stands out for the elegant proportion of its architecture.
