Malgrat de Mar

Malgrat de Mar is a seaside town on Spain's Costa del Maresme. It is popular with visitors from northern Europe who enjoy the hotels and the Mediterranean. Malgrat is also heavily visited in October when the youth soccer competition Costa Brava Cup is on.

The nearest airports are Barcelona El Prat Airport BCN IATA 84 km (52 mi) and Girona Costa Brava GRO IATA 34 km (21 mi)

By train

Served by Rodalies-RENFE Rodalies-Renfe trains  R1  line connects to Barcelona where you can change train to go to airport. It also goes to Maçanet-Massanes where you can change train to Girona (and connect to the Girona airport)

By car

  • The  C32  Motorway goes from Barcelona to Palafolls
  • The  N-2  goes parallel to C-32 but along the coast, crossing all villages
  • The  B-682  to Blanes and Costa Brava

Do

Road Cycling

You can train along the coast in the N-II road between El Masnou and Santa Susanna. Or try the road from Arenys to Port of Collsacreu to Sant Celoni .

In Sant Pol de Mar starts the bv-5128 and then the BV-5031 until Mataro. This route is a favorite among locals. They call it "el pollastre" (the chicken).

Mountain Bike

Head up to the Parc del Montnegre i el Corredor, for trails along the forests.

Alongside the Passeig Marítim, by the beaches, there is a variety of shops selling electronics (probably fake), softguns, sport kits (La Liga, Premier League and more), restaurants and grocery.
