Marumbi

Marumbi is in the state of Paraná in Brazil.

Understand

There are no roads in or out of Marumbi so you must come by train. Passenger trains pass through twice a day (once in each direction) however you can use your ticket on a different day and make use of the camping facilities that are provided free of charge. There’s bathrooms with hot water and even a museum.

Get in

Passenger trains operate between Curitiba and Morretes. On weekends and holidays the train continues on to Paranaguá. Get off at Marumbi.

  • Serra Verde Express, . One of the few opportunities for train travel in Brazil, this train offers fantastic scenery as it meanders its way down in elevation through the Mata Atlântica. The ride from Curitiba costs $R39, departing at 8:15AM. From Paranaguá there is a service on weekends and holidays, departing at 2PM.
