Piripiri

Piripiri is a city of 63,000 people in Piauí, Brazil, good as a base camp for the Sete Cidades National Park.

Get in

The bus station is a few kilometers out of town, -taxi to the center R$ 7, mototaxi R$ 3. Guanabara has departures for Parnaíba, Teresina, Sobral and Fortaleza.

Do

  • 🌍 Serra da Ibiapaba Environmental Protection Area. It contains fragments of cerrado, caatinga and Atlantic Forest, and is home to the endangered red-handed howler.

A few hotels by the bus station, and, more conveniently near the church smack in the center.

  • Hotel da Felicidade (By the church). Some rooms have no windows. Very basic breakfast Double with air con and bath R$ 40. Also cheaper options..

Go next

  • Parque Nacional de Sete Cidades is about 25 km from town. A taxi will charge you up to R$ 50 each way. There is a free employees' bus departing around 7 AM from the church, returning 5 PM from the park.
  • Caldeirão is a fresh water lake, good for swimming, with restaurants and bars, about 8 km from town. Several buses a day, R$ 2.
