Roissy
Roissy-en-France is best known for hosting Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport, the largest airport in Europe. However, the historic city just outside the airport's gates retains its small-town charm, and has several points of interest if you're staying near the airport overnight, or just have a long layover.
Roissy is part of the Île-de-France region. This article also covers the nearby cities of Ecouen and Luzarches, which have a common tourism office.

Get in
Free hotel shuttles leave from the airport bus stand at Terminal 2. The Black and Pink Lines will bring you to the hotels on Allée du Verger in the city center, while the Blue Line will take you the area near the Aéroville mall. You don't need a reservation at the hotels to use the shuttles.

- Parc de la Mairie. A small park between the city center and the hotels.
- 🌍 Ruins of the Château des Caramans. A château that was destroyed during the French Revolution. Today, only a single wall and a detached doorway remain.
- 🌍 Roissy Town Hall (Mairie). Originally a private house built in the 1930s.
- 🌍 Roissy Cemetery. Includes a World War I monument.
- 🌍 St. Eloi Church. Small 16th century Renaissance church.
- 🌍 Archéa. A museum of the archaeology of the Pays de France region.
- 🌍 National Museum of the Renaissance. Contains the Renaissance objects of the collections of the Musée de Cluny, in the historic 16th-century Château d'Écouen.
- 🌍 Air and Space Museum (Musée de l'Air et de l'Espace).
Do
- 🌍 Orangary Cultural Center (Centre Culturel de l'Orangerie). Includes a media center and holds shows about once a week during September–May.
Eat
- 🌍 Avenue Charles de Gaulle. Most of the restaurants in Roissy are along this street or Rue Dorval, which intersects it.
Sleep
- Most hotels are on the Allée du Verger.
