Senafe is a market town in southern Central Eritrea, on the edge of the Eritrean highlands.

- 🌍 Matara archeological site. Matara was a major city during the Dʿmt (𐩵𐩲𐩣𐩩) and Aksumite kingdoms. Among the ruins is the Hawulti obelisk, the oldest (4th century AD) example of Ge'ez script, also known as Old Ethiopic.
