Tabqa

Tabqa is in Euphrates Canton in the Rojava region of Syria.

  • 🌍 Qal'at Ja'bar (قلعة جعبر) (Other side of Lake Assad, 16 km by road from Tabqa). Historic castle, the site has been fortified since at least the 7th century AD but the current structure was built by Nur ad-Din during the late 12th century.
  • 🌍 Al-Furqan Mosque (مسجد الفرقان). Largest mosque in the city, built during the 1970s in a Ottoman-inspired architectural style.
