Tashtagol

Tashtagol (Russian: Таштаг'ол, tush-tuh-GOHL) is a city in Kemerovo Oblast, the biggest city in Gornaya Shoriya, a taiga region at the foot of Altai Mountains.

Tashtagol is the terminus of the Western-Siberian Railway. Getting here is possible by train from Kemerovo or elektrichka from Novokuznetsk. The city is connected with the neighboring Altai Republic by road which goes to Gorno-Altaysk.
