Diving and snorkeling

Some say Tenggol has the best diving in Peninsular Malaysia. Most dive sites here provide great shallow dives with beautiful coral and plenty of marine life up to 18m deep (the limit with the basic "open water" licence). Some dive sites require the diver to have Advanced certification, as they are deeper than 18m and have strong currents. You could always do your advanced course here, but either way the diving is great no matter the depth. Divers can enjoy clear warm water from the south between the months of March to October.

  • Tenggol Coral Beach Resort. This PADI dive centre does everything including dive packages, NITROX and dive training courses.

Beaches

The best beaches on Tenggol are situated on the western side of the island.

Eat

Visitors are advised to prearrange, especially day trippers, as resorts usually do not provide food for non-resort guests, especially during public holidays weekends when the resorts are full.

Drink

Water is mainly ground water and it is only good for washing and bathing. It unsafe to drink unless treated. Drinking water at the resorts is brought in from the mainland. Only drink this, or bottled water.

Sleep

Some Tenggol resorts include:

  • Aqua Tenggol Resort also known as Tenggol Island Resort, Tengol Island and Spa Resort, and others depending which agents you are booking from. 16 chalets (twin and triple sharing).
  • Tenggol Island Beach Resort. 7 chalets (twin, triple and quad sharing).
  • Tenggol Resort - 7 chalets (twin and triple sharing).
