Toranmal

Toranmal is a hill station in North Maharashtra in India.

Occupying the highest part of the Satpudas, Toranmal is a hill station and the only place of its kind attracting tourists. It is nearly 145 km from Dhule the district headquarters. Toranmal enjoys a salubrious and cool climate even during the hot season. It is a long, narrow land with a height of 1036 metres above sea level.

Nearest airport is Aurangabad (IXU IATA).

By train

Nearest railhead is Nandurbar, 76 km. on Surat-Bhusawal line of Western Railway. A more convenient railhead is Dhule, 128 km.

By car

Mumbai-Toranmal via Dhule Shahada, 510 km. Dhule-Toranmal, 128 km.

State Transport buses play from Dhule, Nandurbar and Shahada to Toranmal.

  • Sitakhai Valley About 1.5 km away there is a valley called Sitakhai where in a wall like formation could be seen standing erect.

  • Temples There are two temples dedicated to Gorakhnath and Nagarjun, where a fair is held on Mahasivratri day. Toranmal also has historical importance as it was the ancient capital of the Mandu dynasty.
