Temples

  • 🌍 Lingyun Zen Temple (凌雲禪寺), No. 116號, Section 3, Lingyun Road, +886 2 2291 3771. A Buddhist temple that contains a statue of the bodhisattva Avalokiteśvara, which is the largest indoor Buddhist statue in Taiwan. The temple serves vegetarian food to visitors on Saturdays and holidays.
  • 🌍 Siyun Temple (西雲寺), No. 3, Lane 185, Xiyun Road, +886 2 2291 4392.
  • 🌍 Lingyun Temple (開山凌雲寺), No. 57, Section 3, Lingyun Road, +886222912942. The oldest temple in the Wugu area, the original temple building was constructed in 1739. Several temples were built and destroyed over the past few centuries and the current building was built in 1933. The temple building itself was constructed of stone from the nearby Guanyin mountain.

Parks and nature

  • 🌍 Mount Guanyin (觀音山). A volcano named after a female Buddha of Compassion called Guanyin.
  • 🌍 Shuidui Park (水碓公園), No. 69, Shuidui 9th Road. A large area of parkland which contains a number of walking trails snaking up into the nearby mountains where a number of viewing platforms offer good views of the nearby township, and of the natural surrounds.
  • 🌍 Chaozong Park (朝宗公園). The park backs onto the Shuidui park. There is an observatory atop the mountain which has good views of the surrounding area.
