Beira Baixa
Beira Baixa is a former province of the Central region of Portugal. It roughly corresponds to the current Castelo Branco District. It is mostly rural, except for the cities of Castelo Branco and Covilhã.

- 🌍 Castelo Branco — a good base for visiting the International Tagus Natural Park and the Serra da Estrela Natural Park
- 🌍 Covilhã — close to mountains that offer dramatic scenery and a great environment for those fond of hiking, camping, mountain climbing and skiing
- 🌍 Fundão — its excellent cherries are celebrated in the city's gastronomy and its annual festival
- 🌍 Idanha-a-Nova — with Monsanto, an ancient fortified village perched on the side of the mountain with tiny streets carved in the rocks
- 🌍 Proença-a-Nova — a town rich in forests with a museum dedicated to them
